About Me

Hi, my name is Julie and I am a Psychodynamic Therapist and a registered member of BACP and COSCA  (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) I offer face to face counselling in Grangemouth or Online within the UK to adults and young people 16 and over. Therapy can be either short term or long term, based on your individual needs.

I worked for many years within Education, supporting young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs and their families. I provided emotional and psychological support for adults and young people within schools, the community, a counselling centre and within a prison who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual abuse, family and child abuse and families who have been affected by alcohol and substance misuse. I have worked within the LGBTQ+and transgender community and supported families who were refugees or asylum seekers.

Why Counselling?

We all have a story, some of which is yet to be told.

Counselling can help develop your self esteem and confidence. A safe space  to speak the unspeakable, the unspoken thoughts and feelings that are weighing you down. I will provide a non judgemental space.  where you can be heard. A place where you can be YOU without the conditions and beliefs imposed on you by others.

I work within the Psychodynamic method, that uses the relationship we build to safely help you explore and make sense of your emotions and behaviours. Bringing to light unconscious patterns of behaviour that are not working for you.

Weekday evenings and Sunday morning appointments available.

I'm 1oo% responsible for who I am in this relationship. My task is to free myself sufficiently so that I can respond in the present moment - not from past programming. That's what freedom is - Dr Gabor Maté

Are you feeling overwhelmed with daily life, anxious, depressed or not good enough. Do you compare yourself to others and worry what others think of you.
